On a memo released to the media on Thursday afternoon, the UAAP has meted out a one-game suspension to University of the East's Charles Mammie in the aftermath of their 78-71 defeat to the Adamson Falcons on Wednesday.
The said memo noted that the center from Sierra Leone was seen confronting, pushing and kicking Roider Cabrera of Adamson from behind with the intention to hurt, just as the final seconds of the game had expired between the two schools.
Cabrera also was given a warning for a separate incident in the same game, an unsportsmanlike foul against UE's Lord Casajeros. Casajeros also was given the same warning.
Mammie had been given a warning for his actions against Emmanuel Mbe when UE and National University played on July 6. Since his actions against AdU counts as a second offense, it now warrants a suspension.
The UAAP also gave a warning to NU's Jeff Javillonar for the contact he had with Jeric Teng. The collision resulted in the shoulder injury that forced the University of Santo Tomas skipper to miss the rest of the game, which ended 71-67 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Jeric already had an MRI to check on the gravity of the injury, and according to him, the results will not come out for a few days. He has been advised to ice and rest the shoulder, and has been deemed as doubtful for Saturday's game against UE.
