With recent developments involving Kelly Williams and Jared Dillinger, time to revisit the Gilas pool.
I watched Kelly Williams' phone patch interview with Jinno and Cesca on Solar Sports Desk. I dare you to not cry after watching the entire clip below. I await Jared's turn soon.
This is what I wrote last February.
Now that Kelly and Jared have shrunk the pool, this is i think what is going to happen:
1. Chot has been very firm and consistent on this. He is standing by with the 17 guys he picked, and he will not call up any additional players unless force majeure happens. Besides, the individuals most have been suggesting as injury replacements (Santos, Lassiter) play for teams under the SMC banner, which remains totally steadfast on their 1-player-per-team policy.
2. Kelly missing out makes it more likely that Marc Pingris has officially locked in his spot for FIBA-Asia.
3. Jared missing out improves the chances of Gabe and Larry's chances of making the FIBA-Asia roster.
4. That latter option of going with two from the Thoss group looks more likely.

3 from Alapag, Castro, Reyes, Tenorio
4 from David, Fonacier, Norwood, Chan, Dillinger
3 from De Ocampo, Pingris, Aguilar, Williams
1 from Thoss, Fajardo and Slaughter

If Chot is concerned with size, he can go two from the Thoss group and remove one from either RDO group or David group.
