The Nuvali Dirt Weekend

On April 26-28, cycling enthusiasts will flock once again to Nuvali to partake of Dirt Weekend Invitational.

Two sets of events will take place in the invitational, which has invited participants from as far as Baguio and Sultan Kudarat to take part in either the Cross Country (Olympic and Relay) or the Fourcross.

Now on its fifth year, the Dirt Weekend Invitational will feature a new wrinkle, as for the first time, it is a sanctioned race within the auspices of the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (PhilCycling) and the world governing body Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

Having PhilCycling and UCI sanction the event equates to participants in the different events allows them to garner points. It also means that all competitors will have to apply for a PhilCycling / UCI license before they can join. In fact, UCI commissaries will be on hand to judge the competition.

PhilCycling officials are also looking at this competition as a means to determine the participants to the upcoming SEA Games later this year.

For more details, you can check out Nuvali's website on the event.
