MOB sent Skyforce to their first defeat of the season, escaping with a 98-94 victory in the 2013 Danny Espiritu Cup at the Lyceum Gym.
In a match befitting the top-billing with the two undefeated teams of the tournament, both teams had their chances to pull away in the fourth quarter.
MOB led early on in the fourth, 75-67, before Skyforce took control and erected an 86-81 lead with over two and a half minutes remaining. However, MOB uncorked a 15-4 run to seal their fifth straight victory.
Jopher Custodio and Jeff Viernes led the way for MOB with a combined 59 points on 13 triples, while Chester Tolomia and Marlon Basco led Skyforce with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
Skyforce dropped to second place with a 5-1 record.
