The Season 75 All-UAAP Team and the Season 76 Preseason Awards

Before the start of the upcoming UAAP season this weekend, it would be a good way to look back at last year.

As what I have done in the past few years, the idea of forming the All-Star team out of the UAAP has always intrigued me. So after the end of Season 75, I devised this 16-man UAAP team (After all, UAAP rosters have a maximum of 16 players). All eight schools have at least one representative (something I took the cue from the Bantay Bata games, back when the UAAP & NCAA had one coveror).

Here goes my picks from last year.

UP - Mike Silungan.
UE - Roi Sumang
Adamson - Jericho Cruz, Eric Camson
FEU - Terrence Romeo, RR Garcia
NU - Bobby Ray Parks, jr., Emmanuel Mbe
La Salle - Norbert Torres, Jeron Teng
UST - Karim Abdul, Jeric Fortuna, Aljon Mariano
Ateneo - Greg Slaughter, Nico Salva, Kiefer Ravena

Starters from that would be: Fortuna, Ravena, Parks, Abdul, Slaughter

Here were my honorable mentions in devising this list:

UP - Mark Lopez, Alvin Padilla, Raul Soyud, Henry Asilum
UE - Gene Belleza, Chris Javier, JR Sumido, Adi Santos
Adamson - Rodney Brondial
FEU - Anthony Hargrove
NU - Jeff Javillonar
La Salle - Yutien Andrada, Arnold Van Opstal, Almond Vosotros
UST - Kevin Ferrer, Jeric Teng
Ateneo - Ryan Buenafe, Juami Tiongson

With the UAAP scheduled to begin this weekend, it is appropriate to build the concept of the preseason awards.

Again, this is preseason. Things may change during the course of action, like injuries and rotations issues. Who knows, it could be a completely different group come October.
