Arellano University's Nard Pinto was named as the Master Best Player of the Week for May 22-25 in the FilOil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.
The point guard skippered the Chiefs to wins over San Beda and Jose Rizal University to end their regular season at 6-2, prompting comparisons by Koy Banal to Denok Miranda. He averaged 16.5 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals in securing the two wins.
Joining him in the Gatorade Best Five are Roi Sumang of UE, Noube Happi of EAC, Rodney Brondial of Adamson and Aljon Mariano of UST.
Meanwhile, Sumang's teammate Charles Mammie snagged the Gatorade Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 12 rebounds in their victories over Lyceum and La Salle to keep their winning streak going.
