Jr NBA returns to the Philippines

The Jr. NBA program returns for a seventh straight year to the Philippines this weekend.

On January 18, the 2014 edition of the Jr. NBA, presented by Alaska, will tip off at The British School in Taguig (for the Metro Manila leg), with this edition being more special with the inclusion of the Jr. WNBA program.

The Jr. WNBA program is designed exclusively for girls, which is good news for those who aspire to be the future national team aspirants like our silver-medal winning women's squad in the SEA Games.

Of course, the Jr. NBA & Jr. WNBA Program will once again go to the provinces to help grow the sport of basketball, teach kids and adults, as well as discover new talent. This year, they will travel to Cebu, Puerto Princesa and Dagupan, as well as make their first-ever trip to Surigao and Iloilo to share their skills and know-how to over 500 schools and communities through school clinics and coaching seminars.

This clinics and seminars will culminate in the Regional Selection Camps in March and April. The camps will determine the top 50 boys and top 24 girls who will participate in the April 25-27 Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA National Training Camp in Manila.

Interested participants can check out the Jr. NBA / Jr. WNBA website. They can also check out their Facebook page.
