Skyforce takes Game 1 of 2013 Danny Espiritu Cup Finals

Skyforce took Game 1 of the best-of-three finals of the Danny Espiritu Cup last Friday at the Letran Gym, issuing a 94-49 beatdown of top-seeded MOB.

The losing finalists from last year pounded on their opponents from the get-go, opening a 29-13 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, pushing the lead to as large as 45 points.

Skyforce held a 51-32 rebounding advantage. They also owned a 32-12 edge on points off turnovers and second chance opportunities.

Leo Avenido led all scorers with 14 points while MC Caceres and Jemal Vizcarra each adding 13 and 11, respectively.

Mac Montilla and Raymond Maconocido led MOB with eight points each, while Jopher Custodio and Jeff Viernes were limited to a combined eleven markers, as they suffered their second setback of the competition.

Skyforce can sweep its way for the title if they can secure the victory at the Lyceum Gym tonight at 7pm.
