Cristiano and Manchester United, together again.

Cristiano Ronaldo. Arguably the best footballer in the world, sharing an embrace with Sir Alex Ferguson, arguably the best football manager in the world.

This was after a 1-1 draw between Cristiano's old club Manchester United and his current club Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Portuguese was a major part of the Red Devils' Champions League title run in 2008, and return to the finals in 2009, his last before making the move to the Spanish capital.

Coming soon is the return leg, and his long-awaited return to Old Trafford.

32.

These guys got themselves this for the 32nd time in their history.

Doing it at the fabled San Mamés, fitting since this cathedral of football will give way to a new stadium next season.

In Mou we trust.

Imagine the party at Cibeles.

Real Madrid 2 - FC Barcelona 1

Quite simply, Cristiano Ronaldo just telling all Madridistas out there...

Calm down, guys. I got this! Nothing to worry about. We'll take care of this one for you.

Satisfying 2-1 victory, as deconstructed by one of the best futbol minds out there.

The New Galactico era

Florintino Perez gets a new mandate being the new Real Madrid president, and now they are back at it again with their 2 record signings. First signing Kaka away for 68m euros ($94.05m or £58.9m) from AC Milan, then breaking the bank for Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United for £80m. They hired Manuel Pellegrini to replace former Tottenham manager Juande Ramos.

They have not been dominant as of late (that is FC Barcelona), and as such, they went back to Perez, who was in charge of the Galacticos era of Madrid.

Perez has been quoted as saying he is looking at 5 or 6 signings for the upcoming season. Among those rumored are David Villa (Valencia striker), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich) and Xabi Alonso.

Given how much money Madrid has with its global marketing and merchandising, they can withstand the possible signings.

You can expect a quick response from Barcelona anytime now.
